Random plasma patterns resemble clouds and can simulate 3D landscapes. Spirofractal will also generate (nearly) symmetric plasma patterns like this, that tile, so they can be used for web page backgrounds.

Spirofractal also has "color cycling" animation, where a pattern is fixed, but its colors are changed. This can be quite hypnotic, especially with plasma.
