"Seahorse Valley" is a name for the area between the two largest regions of the Mandelbrot set. It contains many interesting features, a few of which are shown on this page. These two sequences zoom in by increasing amounts on the left and right hand side of the valley.
All the points in the Mandelbrot set are connected, though in many cases only along a very fine line.
So although the various filaments and curlicues that appear don't have any blue pixels, on a sufficiently large scale, and with a sufficiently accurate computer they would - small copies of the set appear in many places on the boundary of the set.
On closer inspection the apparently similar tails on each little circle turn out to be quite different in each part of the Mandelbrot set.
